EU wants to impose new sanctions on Russia on invasion anniversary

The European Union wants to impose new sanctions on Russia on the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The statement came from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, AFP reports.

According to the head of the European Commission, the EU expects that new anti-Russian sanctions will be ready by February 24.

At the same time, according to AFP, Ursula von der Leyen praised Ukraine's efforts to fight corruption after a series of public investigations and high-profile dismissals.
