Euronews: Vafa Musayeva becomes first Azerbaijani woman to summit Everest VIDEO

Azerbaijani mountaineer Vafa Musayeva (Kahraman) has made history by becoming the first woman from Azerbaijan to reach the summit of Mount Everest and, in the same climbing season, also conquer Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest peak. This achievement marks the first time an Azerbaijani climber has completed the Everest–Lhotse combination.

Speaking to Euronews, Musayeva reflected on her journey to the world’s highest peak. She revealed that her motivation stemmed from noticing that no Azerbaijani women had previously been listed among Everest summiteers. She recounted the emotional moment of raising her national flag at the summit, along with the extreme physical and mental challenges she endured.
