Ex-seperatist leader discloses aim of AFU's large-scale assault
Donbas separatist Igor Girkin (better known as Strelkov) says that the Ukrainian army has launched a large-scale attack in the direction of Kherson from a bridgehead on the Ingulets river.
Caliber.Az reports citing Strelkov that all stationary bridges across the Dnieper (two road and two railway bridges) are out of order.
"It is now possible to cross the Dnieper by vehicles only by ferry and pontoon crossings. Nova Kakhovka, Beryslav, Donetsk, Makiivka, Yasynuvata, Horlivka, and many other settlements are under fierce shelling," he said.
Strelkov said that the Ukrainian army has launched missile strikes on crossings (bridge and ferry) in Kherson, as well as on facilities in Melitopol.
"The enemy is trying to break through to the village of Bruskinskoye - on the Berislav-Davydov Brod route deep into our defence. There is a breakthrough in the front in this area. Our artillery and aviation are actively working against the enemy's forces that have broken through. So far the enemy wasn't able to enlarge the "neck" of his breakthrough.
Thus, the picture of the enemy offensive is roughly clear: to capture and defeat our grouping to the east of Kherson between the Dnieper and Ingulets rivers," the separatist concluded.
