Explosion at Bucharest power station triggers fire

A powerful explosion has struck a thermal power station in Bucharest, causing a fire and sending a column of smoke into the air. 

The blast occurred at one of the Romanian capital’s main thermal power facilities. Three transformers at the site reportedly caught fire following the explosion, Russian media reports. 

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and have since extinguished the blaze. No immediate information has been released regarding casualties or the extent of damage.

Authorities have not yet provided official details on the cause of the incident, and investigations are expected to follow.
