Explosion at pasta factory in Türkiye injures at least 20 workers
An explosion at a pasta factory in the Hendek district of Sakarya, Türkiye, has left at least 20 workers injured.
The incident occurred around 1:20 PM (local time) on September 15 and also sparked a fire at the site, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Emergency services, including firefighting teams from Sakarya, Düzce, and Kocaeli, swiftly responded to the scene. Firefighters are currently working to control the blaze, while medical teams are providing care to those injured.
Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar visited the site and reassured the public that, while there were no immediate reports of fatalities or serious injuries, the situation remains under close observation. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage.
