Explosion in Kyiv apartment kills two, injures one

A deadly explosion rocked an apartment in a multi-story building in Kyiv’s Dnipro District on Sunday afternoon, killing two people and injuring another, authorities said.

According to the Kyiv police, the emergency call came in around 3:30 p.m. Preliminary investigations suggest that a grenade detonated inside the apartment, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.

“As a result of the explosion, two people were killed and another person was injured,” the police confirmed.

Emergency responders, including an investigative-operational team, explosives experts, and canine units, are on site conducting investigations and securing the area. The cause of the explosion and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
