F-18 fighter jets conduct live-fire exercises in Estonia

F-18 fighter jets are conducting live-fire exercises using their onboard cannons between the Estonian islands of Saaremaa and Hiiumaa on September 28.

As part of the drills, a Spanish air defence contingent is practising the destruction of drones. The Estonian Navy vessel EML Valve is responsible for maritime safety in the area, while the country’s Air Operations Control Squadron is coordinating the activities of the participants.

In addition, from September 28 to October 4, NATO fighter jets will conduct training flights across Estonia, including at low altitudes and at supersonic speeds.
