Famous Russian public figure’s grandson to visit Azerbaijan’s Shusha
Grandson of famous Russian Islamic, political and public figure Heydar Jemal, son of Russian military journalist Orkhan Jemal - Mansur Jemal has arrived in Azerbaijan.
Mansur Jemal will participate in the third Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth in Shusha city.
Mansur's father, well-known Russian military journalist of Azerbaijani origin Orkhan Jemal, was killed on July 30, 2018, along with two colleagues, director Alexander Rastorguev and cameraman Kirill Radchenko, in the Central African Republic, where the film crew was working on a documentary, the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Report.
Orkhan Jemal has covered events in the Caucasus since the early 2000s, wrote a book about the war in Georgia, worked during the coup in Nepal, spent holidays in prison in Somalia, worked in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, was severely wounded in Libya in 2011, made several reports from Myanmar and Bangladesh on the plight of the Rohingya people.
