French far-right party leader urges impeachment of Macron amid rising tensions
Leader of the far-right Patriots party Florian Philippot has called for the impeachment of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The call was made following recent comments made by Macron about increasing pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Philippot, a prominent figure in French politics, condemned Macron's stance, describing the French president as a "dangerous" leader. He emphasised that urgent action is necessary, stating, "We must block his path before it’s too late."
Earlier, President Macron announced that France will establish a base for hypersonic missiles with nuclear warheads and fighter jets by 2035 as part of its strategy to deter Russia. Macron noted that this will be the first site to receive the new modified Rafale fighter jets. He also referred to Russia as a real threat to both France and the broader European region, claiming that this threat is observable on multiple levels.
