Fatal bus accident in Thailand leaves two dead, dozens injured
A tragic road accident in Thailand’s Tak province on February 5 resulted in two fatalities and 35 injuries.
According to the Naewna newspaper, the accident involved a tourist bus travelling from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, Caliber.Az reports.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved into the oncoming lane, and then crashed into a tree along the roadside.
The passenger sitting in the front seat died instantly, while the driver was rushed to a medical facility, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Among the victims, two were Thai citizens. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
This incident follows a similar accident that occurred just days earlier, on February 1, when a bus plunged from a height of 15 meters on the Thai island of Phuket.
The bus, which was carrying a group of tourists returning from an excursion, fell at the Karon-Patong pass. The driver lost control of the bus, causing it to fly off the road near a hotel.
Nine people were injured in that accident.
