FBI releases footage of suspected killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk VIDEO
The FBI and Utah authorities have released new footage showing the suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk fleeing the scene.
In the video, a figure can be seen running across a rooftop, reportedly the location from which the fatal shot was fired, before dropping several feet to the ground and disappearing into a nearby wooded area, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
Police have also released fresh images of a “person of interest,” described as wearing a black T-shirt featuring a US flag and Converse shoes. Authorities are appealing for information and have offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who can assist with the investigation.
Officials say they are gathering evidence to potentially pursue the death penalty against the suspect, following the discovery of a high-powered rifle near the scene.
Meanwhile, US Vice-President JD Vance accompanied Kirk’s body as it was transported back to Phoenix, Arizona.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue their search for the gunman.
Kirk, 31, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, was shot and killed while speaking on campus.
He co-founded Turning Point USA, a student organisation established in 2012 that aims to spread conservative ideals at liberal-leaning US colleges.
