Fifteen Americans injured in Iranian drone strike on base in Kuwait

Fifteen Americans were injured in an overnight Iranian drone strike on Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, two U.S. officials told CBS News.

Most of those wounded have since returned to duty, according to one of the officials. The severity of the injuries has not been publicly detailed.

Ali Al Salem Air Base, located in Kuwait, is a key hub for U.S. military operations in the Middle East. 

Earlier, a spokesperson for U.S. Central Command said that, as of April 7, a total of 373 American service members have been injured in connection with the Iran operation. Of those, about 330 have returned to duty, while five are currently listed as seriously wounded.
