According to EuroWeekly News, Finland's first geothermal heating plant, located in Vantaa, has begun operations. This plant has the capacity to heat approximately 130 homes, with an annual output of 2,600 MW. It is the first facility in Finland to integrate geothermal heat into the country's district heating systems, marking a significant achievement. Compared to fossil fuel alternatives, the plant reduces emissions by 95 per cent, aligning with Finland's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
