Media: Finland pledges over $10 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine
The Finnish Foreign Ministry has announced the allocation of $16 million in humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
The ministry confirmed that the funds are aimed at alleviating the ongoing crisis in the war-torn country. The aid will be delivered to Kyiv through established humanitarian organisations, including the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which will ensure that the support reaches those in need, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, numerous countries and international organisations have stepped up to provide humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people. This support has included essential goods such as food, medical supplies, shelter, and financial assistance to help alleviate the devastating impact of the war on civilians. Nations like the US, EU member states, Canada, the UK, and many others have donated billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine.
Humanitarian organisations such as the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been central in coordinating and delivering this aid on the ground. These efforts have helped address urgent needs, including displaced people, injured civilians, and those living in war-affected areas.
