US approves $6.7 billion weapons sales package to Israel
The US State Department has approved potential arms sales to Israel totalling more than $6.7 billion, including armoured vehicles and helicopters.
According to the announcement made by the Pentagon’s Defence Security Cooperation Agency and cited by Caliber.Az, Israel requested permission to purchase 30 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters along with related equipment valued at $3.8 billion. A separate request covers the acquisition of 3,250 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) and associated equipment worth $1.98 billion.
The package also includes Namer armoured personnel carriers (APC-MT883) estimated at $740 million, as well as AW119Kx multi-purpose helicopters with related components worth approximately $150 million.
The main contractors for the potential deals are AM General, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin.
