Finland raises drone airspace breach issue with Ukraine
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their meeting that drone incursions into Finnish airspace are unacceptable.
The incident involves two drones that are believed to have crossed the Finnish border early in the morning of May 3. Orpo said the matter was discussed during a bilateral meeting with Zelenskyy, Caliber.Az reports per Finnish media.
He stressed that Finland continues to support Ukraine and recognises its right to self-defence, but added that any violation of national airspace is considered a serious incident.
According to him, Finland has reliable information about the event and strong capabilities to monitor and protect its airspace, which will be further strengthened in the near future.
Orpo also expressed hope that Ukraine will take greater caution to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
