Finland says gives Ukraine latest models of its weapons
Chief of Arms of the Finnish Defense Forces Finland, Maj-Gen Mikko Heiskanen, has said that Finland is providing Ukraine with not only old weapons, but also the latest models of its weapons as part of military assistance, says.
According to the Finnish general, some of the equipment being transferred to Ukraine is so new that it is still under development, RBC-Ukraine reports.
As Heiskanen added, the feedback from the Ukrainian side on these weapons has been positive so far.
Finland has been helping Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. In particular, the country has already allocated more than 20 military aid packages to the Ukrainian army. One of the latest packages included, among other things, air defence systems and ammunition.
Finland has also signed a bilateral agreement on security assurances with Ukraine. Signed by the two presidents, the document covers political, defense, and security support, as well as support for Ukraine's reforms and recovery.
