Fire breaks out at major Ukrainian lamp factory in Lviv VIDEO

A major fire has broken out at the "Iskra" electric lamp plant in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown. Local authorities have advised residents in the surrounding area to keep their windows closed as emergency services monitor the situation. No explosions were reported in the region prior to or during the outbreak of the fire.

The "Iskra" factory serves as Ukraine's primary manufacturer of electric lamps, supplying more than half of the domestic market alongside a broad range of lighting fixtures. Historically, the facility was among the largest producers of incandescent light bulbs in the former Soviet Union.
