Fire crews deployed to Smolensk Aviation Plant after drone attack photo / video
Emergency services were deployed to the Smolensk Aviation Plant located in Smolensk, Russia, after reports of multiple explosions in the city, with authorities confirming that a drone attack had been repelled.
Witnesses recorded video showing fire engines and ambulances gathered near the entrance to the facility, indicating an immediate response to the incident.
Regional governor Andrey Anokhin confirmed that air defences had been engaged to counter an unmanned aerial vehicle attack.
Independent OSINT analysis by ASTRA supported these accounts, noting that footage from the scene shows several fire trucks positioned at the plant’s entrance, suggesting a rapid emergency response.
The incident comes a day after Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, visited the Smolensk region to inspect the implementation of the state defence order. Local media reported that a video released during his visit was filmed at the Smolensk Aviation Plant.
