Fire tears through top floors of New York residential building video

Firefighters responded to a major blaze early Saturday morning, January 24, that tore through the top two floors of a high-rise residential building in New York City, fire officials said.

According to the New York City Fire Department, cited by US media, the four-alarm fire broke out shortly after midnight in the Bronx and spread to several apartments in the 17-story building. The cause of the fire had not yet been determined.

More than 200 firefighters and emergency personnel were deployed to the scene, the department said. Authorities had not yet confirmed whether there were any injuries.

Videos shared online showed flames engulfing sections of the building’s upper floors as crews worked to contain the fire.
