Firefighters extinguish wildfires in Azerbaijan's Aghdam district
Firefighters have extinguished wildfires that broke out in open areas near the villages of Kangarli and Papravand in Azerbaijan's Aghdam district, despite the presence of landmines and challenging windy conditions, the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
According to the ministry, State Fire Service crews carried out emergency operations that prevented the flames from spreading to neighbouring areas, Caliber.Az reports.
The affected locations are in territory heavily contaminated with landmines, adding significant risks to firefighting efforts.
Authorities noted that a separate fire had broken out in an open area near Kangarli on the morning of July 23.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said the fires have now been brought under control.
