First ship with grain leaves Ukrainian port

The Turkish Defence Ministry has informed about the departure of the first ship carrying corn from the Ukrainian port of Odesa.

The “Razoni” ship sails under the flag of Sierra Leone, heading towards Lebanon, the Russian news service Kommersant quotes the ministry’s Twitter post as saying on August 1.

Citing the Turkish CNN Turk media outlet, Kommersant informed that the ship left the port at about 8:45 AM (GMT+3). Other details were not disclosed.

An agreement on grain export from Ukrainian ports was reached by Moscow and Kyiv on July 22 in Istanbul with the mediation of Türkiye and the UN. Grain will be delivered from three ports - Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhnyi.
