Five arrested in Czech Republic over arson attack on arms factory
Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the arson attack on the LPP Holding weapons factory in Pardubice that occurred on March 20.
According to Ceske Noviny, Czech Interior Minister Lubomir Metnar announced the arrests during his visit to Slovakia.
He stated that more perpetrators were initially involved at the scene, but five have been detained as a result of the investigation.
The group calling itself the Earthquake Faction claimed responsibility for the fire. The organisation demanded that the company stop cooperating with Israel and condemn its policy in Palestine, threatening otherwise to publish stolen confidential data.
LPP Holding denies any cooperation with Israeli manufacturers. However, it is known that the factory produced drones for Ukraine. Czech authorities are also investigating a possible Russian connection to the incident.
Among those arrested is a U.S. citizen, who was detained in Slovakia as part of an extradition procedure.
Minister Metnar thanked Slovakia for its cooperation and noted that the investigation is ongoing.
