Five killed in shooting in northern Germany, police say

A shooting at a youth centre in the northern German town of Stade has left five people dead, police said on Monday (June 29).

A male suspect has been detained, Caliber.Az reports per British media.

The motive for the attack is currently unclear.

Local media reported that the incident took place at a youth centre in central Stade, a town of just under 50,000 people west of Hamburg.

Some reports suggested there may have been multiple suspects, but police did not immediately confirm this.
