Five die in apartment explosion in Uzbekistan

In the city of Nukus, the centre of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan of Uzbekistan, 5 people lost their lives in a natural gas explosion in an apartment.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Emergencies of Uzbekistan, the natural gas explosion occurred in the apartment on the top floor of a 4-storey apartment building in the city of Nukus, TRT Haber informs.

All apartments in the building were severely damaged in the explosion.

Rescue teams, who came to the scene, reached the lifeless bodies of 5 people, while 2 people injured in the explosion were taken to the hospital.

Teams also rescued a 5-year-old boy from the rubble.
