Five foreigners to appear before court in Russia's separatist region of Donetsk

The Supreme Court of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in east Ukraine confirmed that a criminal trial began against five foreigners who fought on the side of Ukraine, on August 15.

"The court session will take place on August 15, it will be held after the hearing of the protocol," a representative of the DPR Supreme Court told Interfax on August 12.

The suspects are Swedish citizens Matthias Gustavsson, Croatian citizens Vekoslav Prebeg, and British citizens John Harding, Andrew Hill and Dylan Healy.

According to the legislation of the DPR, if the guilt of the defendants is proved, they may face the death penalty as well.
