Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Nikopol in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region using FPV drones, killing five people and injuring 19 others, according to regional authorities.
Oleksandr Hanja, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said in a Telegram statement that the victims included three women and two men. Among the injured is a 14-year-old girl, whose condition doctors have described as serious.
The strike also triggered a fire at the scene and caused damage to commercial infrastructure, including market stalls and a shop.
The attack adds to ongoing strikes on frontline regions, where drone warfare continues to pose a significant threat to civilian areas and infrastructure.
