Five killed in mass shooting at Bangkok’s market

A mass shooting at the popular Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok has left five people dead and one person injured, Thai authorities confirmed on July 28.

The incident unfolded earlier in the day at the bustling food market, which is renowned for its high-quality fresh fruit and seafood. Police said the suspected gunman, who is also deceased, carried out the attack for reasons that are still under investigation, Caliber.Az reports via BBC. 

Local media reported that several of the victims were security guards working at the market. Officials have not yet released the identities of those killed.

Law enforcement has cordoned off the area as investigations into the shooter’s motive continue.
