Floods and collapses kill 45, injure over 100 in Pakistan
06 April 2026 00:28
At least 45 people have been killed and 105 injured in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province following heavy rains and related incidents since March 25, according to Geo TV, citing local authorities.
Provincial emergency management officials said most casualties were caused by the collapse of buildings weakened by flooding and fast-moving water.
The damage has been widespread, with a total of 442 homes affected, including 60 that were completely destroyed.
Authorities have also issued a warning that further heavy rainfall is expected between April 6 and April 9. Residents have been advised to avoid travelling to high-risk, disaster-prone areas unless absolutely necessary.
