Foreign guests have arrived in Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli City to participate in the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum.
The plane with the guests landed at the Fuzuli International Airport, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Foreign guests arriving in Azerbaijan to participate in the II Shusha Global Media Forum familiarised themselves with the ruins of Fuzuli City.
The guests were told about the destruction caused by Armenian vandals in the Fuzuli district during the years of occupation.
The forum will bring together a diverse group of international stakeholders to discuss and strategize on combating disinformation and addressing climate change.
Moreover, the media forum will feature four panel sessions on “Impact assessment: scoping disinformation,” “Policies and initiatives to build a more resilient society against disinformation,” The impact of artificial intelligence on reality, media and disinformation: Promoting media literacy,” and “Climate movement and media".
These sessions will facilitate discussions among officials from various countries, media and civil society representatives, international organization representatives, and media experts. Participants will exchange views and share experiences on the highlighted topics.
Additionally, forum attendees will be briefed on preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The discussions will include strategies for combating climate change impacts at the national level and sustainable approaches in the restoration and reconstruction of liberated areas.
The forum is expected to attract more than 150 foreign guests from around 50 countries, including representatives from 30 national news agencies, three international organizations, and 82 media entities. This diverse gathering aims to provide a collaborative platform for joint discussions and action.
The inaugural Shusha Global Media Forum took place from July 21-23 last year, featuring President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan. At the opening ceremony of the first forum, themed “New Media in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution,” President Aliyev addressed the attendees and participated in a Q&A session.
