Participants of Shusha Media Forum visit Aghdam Railway and Bus Station Complex

As part of the cultural and informational program of the III Shusha Global Media Forum, participants toured the Aghdam Railway and Bus Station Complex in the city of Aghdam.

Guests were briefed on the Barda–Aghdam railway project, as well as plans for the construction of the Barda–Aghdam–Khankendi railway section, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The foundation of this transport hub — one of the region’s key strategic infrastructure projects — was laid on October 4, 2022, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. The complex plays a vital role in the restoration and development of Aghdam as a modern city.

The railway station, designed to serve between 800 and 1,000 passengers daily, was officially opened on May 10, 2025.

For the record, the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, held under the theme “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI”, opened on July 19 and will continue through July 21.
