Population in Karabakh, East Zangazur surges to nearly 92,000
The population residing in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions has reached nearly 92,000, the latest figures from the State Statistics Committee suggest.
As of early August, a total of 91,746 people were living in the territories liberated from occupation, the committee said, Caliber.Az reports.
The figures include 38,179 people who have returned to their homes under the First State Program on the Great Return, launched to facilitate the resettlement of citizens in the liberated territories.
“The total number of people residing in the liberated territories amounted to 91,746,” the State Statistics Committee said.
The ongoing resettlement program is accompanied by extensive reconstruction and infrastructure projects aimed at restoring residential areas, public facilities and essential services across Karabakh and East Zangazur.
