Azerbaijan clears 1,581 hectares of land in weekly demining operations PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has cleared 1,581 hectares of land from mines and unexploded ordnance in liberated lands, according to the agency’s latest weekly report.

Between August 3 and 9, demining teams operating across several districts and the city of Khankendi detected and neutralised 87 anti-personnel mines, 20 anti-tank mines and 784 pieces of unexploded ordnance, ANAMA said, Caliber.Az reports.

The operations were carried out in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khojavand, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Gazakh and Zangilan districts, as well as in Khankandi.
