Great Return: Azerbaijan resettles 102 formerly displaced residents in Khankendi

A group of 102 former internally displaced people from 22 families has returned to Khankendi as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing “Great Return” resettlement programme.

The residents expressed appreciation to the Azerbaijani government for its support and paid tribute to members of the Azerbaijani armed forces who were killed during the war, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The programme, implemented under the direction of President Ilham Aliyev, aims to facilitate the return of people displaced from their homes during decades of conflict.

The returning families had previously lived in temporary accommodation, including hostels, sanatoriums, children’s camps, unfinished buildings and administrative facilities.
