Foreign minister pledges end to Iranian influence in Lebanon
The Lebanese government remains fully committed to removing the country from Iranian influence, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi stated on X.
He noted that Iran, through Hezbollah, has drawn the country into a war Lebanon did not choose.
“There is an urgent need to support the Lebanese Army and armed forces, enabling them to fulfill their role in maintaining security and stability, and extending state authority across all Lebanese territory,” the minister wrote.
Iran, using Hezbollah, has dragged Lebanon into a war we did not choose. However, our government remains determined to pull Lebanon out of Iran’s grip.
