Ex-CIA analyst: Rubio, Vance, Hegseth will leave Trump’s sinking ship
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth may distance themselves from President Donald Trump amid what has been described as US setbacks in the conflict with Iran, Ray McGovern, a former CIA analyst, said.
During an appearance on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom, McGovern stressed that much depends on the information being delivered to Trump regarding the situation in the Middle East.
He noted that most sane people recognise that the United States has been defeated.
“Is it likely that Rubio or Hegseth or even Vance are telling them that? I don't know. One would expect that they would jump off like rats off the sinking ship,” he added.
McGovern also emphasised that Trump has been placed in a difficult position by Israeli leadership and now finds himself “between a rock and a hard place.”
Earlier, Professor Michael Hudson of the University of Missouri stated that US generals are concerned about the possibility of a nuclear strike by Trump.
According to him, the current situation in the United States is characterised by an “irrational model,” which is reflected in tensions inside the White House situation room. He further claimed that generals are allegedly refusing to hand over nuclear codes to the president, fearing he could use them.
