France cancels parade marking 400th anniversary of naval forces
French authorities have cancelled a naval parade that was scheduled to take place in Marseille to mark the 400th anniversary of the country’s naval forces.
According to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the decision was made due to ongoing operational commitments, Caliber.Az reporyts per French media.
“Given the Navy’s current operational tasks and their priority, the Chief of the Naval Staff has decided to cancel the naval display, which was scheduled for May 8 in the port of Marseille,” the channel quoted Ministry of Defence spokesperson Olivia Peniche as saying.
She added that most naval vessels, including the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, remain deployed on missions linked to Israel’s military operation in Lebanon and the broader U.S. and Israeli conflict with Iran.
