France condemns Israeli slander over alleged Hamas backing
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has vehemently dismissed recent Israeli allegations suggesting that the leaders of France, the United Kingdom, and Canada intend to maintain Hamas’s control over Gaza.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Barrot denounced the claims as “slanderous and unfounded,” accusing Israel of conflating support for a two-state solution with “promoting anti-Semitism or supporting Hamas,” Caliber.Az reports.

Barrot emphasized France’s steadfast commitment to Israel’s security, recalling that French armed forces were placed on standby in response to Iranian ballistic missile attacks targeting Israel. He reaffirmed France’s position advocating for the disarmament of Hamas and the permanent exclusion of the terrorist organization from Gaza’s political future.
“France supports the disarmament of Hamas and the terrorist organisation’s permanent exclusion from Gaza’s political future,” Barrot asserted, underscoring France’s dedication to a peaceful and secure resolution in the region.
