France expresses concern about Russian presence in Africa
27 July 2022 05:31
French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed concern over the expansion of Russia's diplomatic and military contacts in Africa.
He stated this on July 26 at a press conference in Cameroon after a meeting with the President of this country, Paul Biya, TASS reports.
“This is a new form, I would not even call it a collaboration, rather aiding the weakened political authorities, or absolutely illegitimate military juntas. This primarily causes concern for the African continent,” he said.
He called for separating "two types of Russian presence" in Africa, noting that Russian diplomacy has been establishing contacts with African countries for decades.
