France’s Defence Ministry applauds Türkiye’s surge in arms exports
Türkiye has made remarkable strides in defence exports in recent years, drawing commendation from France’s Ministry of Defence.
The 2025 arms export report underscores a significant transformation in the global weapons market. While traditional leaders such as the United States, Russia, and Germany continue to dominate, emerging players—including China, South Korea, and Türkiye—are rapidly expanding their presence by developing advanced indigenous defence technologies, Anadolu Agency reports..
According to the report, Türkiye has achieved one of the most impressive growth trajectories among the world’s top ten arms exporters over the past decade. The country continues to channel substantial resources into strengthening its defence industry.
“The Turkish defence sector, particularly through a multitude of contracts for unmanned aerial vehicles, set a new record in 2024, boosting exports by 80% compared to 2023,” the report notes, highlighting the nation’s rising influence in the global arms market.
