Kremlin says Britain's leadership change won’t repair broken ties
Russia does not expect any positive changes in its relations with the United Kingdom following the departure of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing.
Zakharova made the remarks, commenting on the anticipated change in leadership in the British government, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“Frankly speaking, in connection with the upcoming change of government leadership in the United Kingdom, we do not expect positive developments in bilateral relations. And the reason for this does not lie with Moscow,” she said.
Zakharova did not elaborate further on the factors behind Russia's assessment but indicated that the Kremlin sees little prospect of a significant shift in relations with London as a result of the change in government.
