France’s gas reserves fall below 40% as Europe draws on storage

Gas reserves in France’s underground storage facilities (UGS) have dropped below 40%, according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE). France, one of Europe’s leaders in storage capacity, saw its reserves fall to 39.8%.
Other major European gas storage holders are also drawing down their supplies. Germany’s UGS facilities are 40.5% full, Austria’s 52.3%, Italy’s 63.3%, and the Netherlands’ 34.1%, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Across Central and Eastern Europe, Slovakia’s storage facilities are 48.6% full, Hungary’s 49.2%, the Czech Republic’s 55.2%, Romania’s 58.2%, and Bulgaria’s 60.4%. Smaller reserves have been recorded in Belgium (39.1%), Denmark (40.9%), Latvia (36%), and Croatia (26.4%).
