France to allocate $42 million for export of Ukrainian grain to Nigeria, Sudan
France intends to allocate 40 million euros ($42 million) to the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to export grain from Ukraine to Nigeria and Sudan, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna has said
Colonna made the remarks during a recent meeting with WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain in New York, TASS reports.
“France announced an additional contribution worth 40 million euros, which will be used, in particular, to supply cereals to Nigeria and Sudan in support of the Grain From Ukraine initiative, to render additional assistance to the Ukrainian food system and to build regional reserves of the World Food Programme,” the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs said.
Moreover, Colonna announced the holding of the “first international meeting of the school meals coalition” in Paris on October 18-19 and the meeting of the UN International Fund for Agricultural Development scheduled for December.
