UK to supply 150,000 drones to Ukraine under military package
The United Kingdom will provide 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of a £752 million ($996 million) military assistance package, Defence Minister Dan Jarvis has announced.
The package was outlined at a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Brussels, where allied defence ministers discussed ongoing military support for Kyiv, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
According to Jarvis, the funding is part of a broader £2.26 billion loan to Ukraine and also includes 350 air defence missiles and ground-based radar systems.
The loan is backed by proceeds generated from immobilised Russian sovereign assets, which have been frozen by Western governments following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Jarvis co-chaired the meeting alongside his German counterpart and held discussions with several senior defence officials, including U.S. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, as well as representatives from France and Ukraine.
