UN Security Council to meet on Ukraine’s request following Russian attacks
The United Nations Security Council will convene on June 22 at 10 p.m. Kyiv time at Ukraine’s request in response to what Kyiv described as a recent large-scale Russian attack, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister said.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced the meeting on social media platform X, saying the session would address the impact of the strikes on civilians and infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports.
On June 22, at 10 pm Kyiv time, the @UN Security Council will convene at Ukraine’s request in response to Russia’s recent massive attack against Ukraine.

“Such attacks leave scars far beyond the battlefield — taking lives, devastating communities, and damaging cultural heritage that carries the memory and identity of a nation,” Sybiha said.
He added that Ukraine expects Security Council members to send a clear message regarding the war.
“We expect Council members to deliver a clear message: Russia should realize that neither Ukraine nor the international community will compromise on the principles of the UN Charter and international law. The time has come to end this war.”
Sybiha also expressed appreciation to Ukraine’s international partners for their continued support and solidarity.
“We are grateful to our partners for their continued solidarity with Ukraine and support for these efforts,” he said.
