France to dispatch permanent military mission to Moldova

France will send a permanent military mission to Moldova, French Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu has said.

Lecornu made the remarks at a briefing in Chisinau, Sputnik reports.

The minister expressed readiness to conclude a cooperation agreement with the Moldovan Ministry of Defense. In particular, the matter rests in training the Moldovan military, provision with equipment and weapons, as well as strengthening the defence system.

The constitution of Moldova enshrines the country’s neutral status.
