France transfers Akeron anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine
France has transferred the 5th generation Akeron anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Jean-Louis Thieriot, vice president of the French National Defence and Armed Forces Commission, as quoted by Opexnews.
According to him, France has transferred an unnamed number of anti-tank missile systems and missiles to Ukraine.
"Today it is clear that the weapons we are sending are good and work. The Caesar self-propelled guns, the Mistral air defence system and the Akeron sent are performing their tasks well," the statement said.
The Akeron MP is a fifth generation French anti-tank guided missile system. With fire-and-forget and command guidance modes of operation, the ATGM also integrates third-party target designation for indirect fire scenarios through post-launch lock for line-of-sight (NLOS) use.
