French party leader calls for EU exit, strengthening national sovereignty
France should leave the European Union and strengthen its national sovereignty, said Philippe de Villiers, head of the right-wing party Movement for France (Mouvement pour la France).
De Villiers argued that the dream of a prosperous Europe has turned into a nightmare, warning that the EU faces imminent death while suffering from three fatal fevers, including disputes with the US over Greenland, an agricultural crisis, and military support for Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via French media.
He added that the EU has also become a consumable for the US amid imposed tariffs, while Brussels pressures those who express alternative views.
De Villiers emphasised that France must reclaim control over legislation, the judicial system, financial policy, and even the right to declare war.
