French politician criticises spending on aid to Ukraine

Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the France Arise party and a candidate in France’s 2027 presidential election, has criticised the continued provision of aid to Ukraine, saying it is unfair when the government has no money to support groups affected by rising fuel prices.

In a post on X, hHe claimed that for motorists, farmers and pensioners, the coffers are empty; however, money is pouring out for Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Caliber.Az reports.

“Enough,” he wrote.

He criticised the French authorities’ reluctance to cut fuel taxes, which he said could significantly reduce prices for consumers.

Referring to the “money for von der Leyen”, Dupont-Aignan clarified that he was referring, among other things, to European programmes supporting migrants.
