French president signals critical moment in Ukraine peace talks
French President Emmanuel Macron has described the Ukrainian peace process as entering a critical and decisive phase.
Speaking at a meeting of the so-called “Coalition of the Willing,” focused on providing support to Ukraine, Macron stressed the urgency of capitalizing on recent diplomatic momentum, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“We are clearly at a decisive stage. The negotiations are gaining new momentum, and we must seize this moment,” Macron said. “For the first time, there is a real chance to make tangible progress toward a good peace.”
Macron underlined that the cornerstone of any lasting peace is the establishment of credible and durable security guarantees, rather than mere written commitments. “The key condition for a good peace is a set of reliable, truly robust security guarantees, not just paper promises,” he noted.
He emphasized that the primary objective of the “Coalition of the Willing” is to ensure these guarantees are firmly implemented, reflecting the international community’s commitment to Ukraine’s security and long-term stability.
